Liverpool jumps up to third in the Premier League after a 3-0 victory over Brentford at Anfield. Salah opened the scoring with his well-taken 39th-minute strike, punishing the Bees for failing to take their chances before half-time. Nunez had twice seen goals ruled out for offside prior to the opening goal but will take some comfort from assisting the breakthrough before the interval. Salah doubled his account and Liverpool’s lead after the break, heading in Tsimikas’ cross as Brentford appealed that the ball had gone out of play.
