Driver: Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing – 1st Place)
Interviewer: Thank you, Max, for joining us after a fantastic victory here in Barcelona. That was a close battle with Lando in the early stages, can you tell us about it?
Max Verstappen: Absolutely. It was a great fight out there with Lando. He definitely surprised everyone with that pole position, the McLaren was flying today. We knew it would be close on the start, and it was a battle into Turn 1.
Interviewer: You managed to make the overtake stick around lap 15. Did the strategy play a big role in your win?
Max Verstappen: Definitely. The strategy team made some fantastic calls today. We pitted at the right time to jump ahead, and the car felt amazing on the new tires. We were able to manage the gap to Lando for the rest of the race.
Interviewer: Looking ahead to the next race, how confident are you in Red Bull’s momentum?
Max Verstappen: We’ve got a strong car, that’s for sure. We need to keep pushing the development though, because McLaren and Mercedes are looking really good this weekend. But yes, I’m feeling confident for the upcoming races. Thanks to all the fans here in Spain, the atmosphere was incredible today!
